I LOVE FALL!

Print Friendly and PDFPrint Friendly

Apple picking, corn mazes, pumpkin everything :), DA BEARS! Bulls, Blackhawks, Sports, knit scarves, boots, over-sized sweaters, plum/wine colored lipstick, dark nail polishes, pea coats, autumn golds, rusty reds, caramelized plums, crisp fall air, cinnamon, chilly nights, baking, hot chocolate, coffee, Halloween, Thanksgiving, CRAFT season (at least for me), Fall TV, long nights reading, blankets galore!

I could go on and on about how much I love Autumn, but I think I've listed enough ^_^

I recently went to an apple orchard with my sister, her husband, and my little brother. Unfortunately due to the horrible droughts of Summer 2012, many of the orchards around here will not be open this season. Because of the shortage, we couldn't actually pick the apples off the trees. They had them all salvaged in barrels. It was more like going to a beautiful farmer's market! The apples tasted amazing and I think I found my new favorite kind, the Jonagold! It's awesome marriage between sweet and sour and the actual fruit is so crisp and delicious. Not to mention, it's a BEAUTIFUL gold apple with crimson smeared all over it. It kinda looks like it was painted haha. I still love my Fuji, Gala, and Honey Crisp though :)

The place we went to is called All Seasons Orchard. There were pumpkins everywhere, pig races, which we unfortunately missed out on, beautiful trees, dancing, a play palace type...situation hehe, and a petting zoo! Since it's open all 4 seasons, hence the name, I'd love to see what they have to offer in the winter. Christmas trees? Poinsettias? I guess we'll have to see ^_^

Here are some pictures of our visit :)

The animals were so cute! :)

Yay for the new season!

AFOMFT: Tulips & the Dutch

AFOFMFT= A Few of My Favorite Things

As I mentioned in a previous post, my family and I recently spent a short weekend to celebrate the coming of spring by checking out Tulip Time Festival in Holland, MI, the largest tulip festival in all of the United States.  As it has done all of April and May, fickle weather plagued much of the trip, but the sun was able to sneak in a few rays for at least a full day allowing us to see the gardens and enjoy the rest of the city even if we were kinda robbed (boo you, Mother Nature). The usually abundant, sea of tulips that you'd normally get to experience at the festival this time of year eluded us this time around so a visit back in the future is definitely a must :)

Thank you to the Dutch for bringing tulips to America!

The next set of pictures aren't of tulips, but they were beautiful enough to share!

Snack Time! Mango & Rambutan

Print Friendly and PDFPrint Friendly

I recently spent the weekend in Holland, MI for the Tulip Festival and my sister and bro-in-law brought some fruity snacks for the trip. The Rambutan looks a bit scary, but I assure you beneath the fuzzy layer is the most delicious soft fruity core. Very similar to lychee! And of course, my favorite fruit of all, mango!! I had so much fun spending time with family. Holland, MI is such a cute little town with lots of Dutch influence (it is called Holland after all hehe) I will post pics soon!

AFOMFT: Christmas decorations

AFOMFT = A Few of My Favorite Things

I can't believe another holiday season is upon us. Time really does have wings!

As you can see, my family likes plushies. We love adding little Christmas themed knick-knacks to places we usually take for granted like door knobs or the staircase. When I get older and have a family of my own, I will definitely be that crazy mom that goes all out on holidays :D

Merry Christmas Eve...Eve!!

Feast On!
