Homemade Caramel Sauce

Print Friendly and PDFPrint Friendly

Use this recipe to make a simple caramel sauce you can use for virtually....anything. This is so delicious, I can eat it off the spoon. It's salty, sweet, luscious, smooth, and most importantly SIMPLE to make.

It's like magic!

- 1 C sugar
- 2 tbsp butter (or more if you like)
- Couple splashes of milk (more or less 1/4 C)
- 2 pinches of salt (to taste)
- patience...lots of it!

Place sugar in a sauce pan over medium to high heat.

Swirl the pan so that the sugar is evenly layered on the pan.

Once sugar is fully dissolved, swirl occasionally and wait until liquid turns to a golden yellow/brown. BE SURE TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE IT WILL BURN QUICKLY IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL!!

Add milk and swirl until incoporated. Remove from heat, then add butter last and swirl until incorporated.

ENJOY!
