Translation?? Hello! haha jk (it doesn't really say that) :p

One of my passions in life besides food is of course, sports. I'm from Chicago after all aren't I? Recently, of the Chicago Blackhawks' (Stanley Cup champs!), Niklas Hjalmarsson did an awesome segment for abc7 news talking about some of his favorite dishes from his homeland of Sweden. Not many people know this yet because it's a relatively new interest that I've stumbled upon, but I'm falling more and more IN LOVE with Swedish culture. The country (in pictures I've seen) is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone is so beautiful. I love the fashion and most recently through this video my knowledge of Swedish cuisine has now extended farther than just...meatballs & lingonberry jam (which are awesome btw!). And for that I'm grateful! haha

So much deliciousness happening in this video.....and I'm not just talking about the food (gotta love those Swedish boys! :p)

USA slaughters CAN 5-3!!!!

I went into these winter olympics and for any olympics really, rooting for Team USA. That's a very easy given. In the sport of hockey, however, it wasn't so easy.

As much faith as I have for my team, just knowing we'd be playing against the likes of Sidney Crosby and the rest of the star studded lineup the Canadians have as well as the many experienced players from all around the world makes it a tougher obstacle to hurdle over. Not to mention the youth of the American team. Many people had their doubts on whether or not the Americans, an average of 26 years of age, can handle this level of play. Tonight was a true test and Hockey USA made a bold statement by not just winning 4 straight games, but defeating the country that is not only the favorite to win it all, but invented the sport of hockey, Canada!! You can tell me I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I believe that we have a legitimate chance at winning gold.  We have talented players, an amazing goalie (Ryan Miller was not human tonight!), youth, but most importantly, I'm starting to see a lot of chemistry developing with every game :) They proved tonight that they're capable of playing against the best. Are they the favorites? Hell no. Do people still doubt them? Yes.

Let us fly under the radar.........hopefully all the way to that top podium :)

"Onto the Next One...."

I'm a little late in saying this, but.....Congratulations to Derrick Rose for being the first Bull in 12 years to make it to the All-Star game since of course, #23!!!! I still believe it should've been 2 bulls (Noah included), but 1 is better than none at all and who better to represent The Windy City than my favorite point-guard and Chicago native himelf,  D Rose! :) In addition to the All-Star game he was also chosen to represent the Sophomores in the Rookie Challenge game as well as the All-Skills Challenge where he will be defending his title. However, because it's unprecedented that a player will be participating all 3 days of the All-Star weekend, he has been scratched from the Sophomore/Rookie game. The league has stated that they felt it was unfair to ask too much from a player.  I will of course be rooting for the Rookies since Taj Gibson will also be representing the Chicago Bulls!

Overall it will be a very fun weekend especially since I will 100% guaranteed be watching Sunday for reasons stated above :)

All-Star weekend will begin Friday, February 13th.
